FIVE YEARS DOWN THE TRACK...

In November 2004 we started the journey to bring a baby home from China ... five years later, in October 2009, we met Isobel Pingqin.
Our little livewire known as Izzy.

It's nearly time to go green...

We are so close to having grass, imagine being so excited about something so simple.  We've had dust and sticky clay for six months now, but this Saturday is the day.  200 square metres of turf will be delivered early Saturday morning.
We've just spent the long weekend spreading the base - two full dump truck loads.  Even the dirt looks 100% better than the clay.  Stay tuned for pictures of green!

Long time ... no post...

We're still here, and loving our new house.   Outside, we still have no grass.  We've spent many weekends moving around dirt and clay getting everywhere levelled out and moving a huge mountain of clay from the front yard to the tip.

Blinds arrived for all windows and shutters for the kids rooms arrived a few weeks ago and look fantastic.

Izzy has turned 4 and Ben has turned 11.  Stanley thinks he is a dog.

 Growing up
 We LOVE cousin Tully!

Izzy and dad went to Disney on Ice to see Minnie Mouse

I'm a butterfly (and mum is learning to draw faces)

"Sunny Boy", Miss Sue's pet at kindy

 Cousins going bowling

 Turning 11 !

The front yard now minus a huge mountain of clay, nearly all levelled out and ready for grass.
 We still have flowers!
Growing plenty of weeds and bindi out the back - this will be replaced with new grass

Izzy and Ben now have shutters in their rooms
Stan the Man who thinks he is a dog, now 10 mths old.

I love dress ups!

Izzy is obsessed with dress-ups at the moment, fairy dresses, princess dresses and her favourite cat outfit.

This is our newest addition, we've named him Brad.

Turning four and feeling poor...

Izzy is very excited about her birthday on Friday.  She will be four (or "sore" as she pronounces it).  We have pass-the-parcel ready for kindy, and had cupcakes ready to bake.  But all will have to go on hold for a week, with suspected pneumonia.
On a brighter note, whilst unpacking Peter found some old wigs from various fancy dress parties.

Some shots of our not so dainty ballerina!

Long time no post!

Seems I've been a bit absent - not much has changed with the house.  We do however have a driveway, which we have been able to drive on for two weeks now.  We have finished all retaining walls outside, now just need grass and plants.  We're a bit over it all and having a few weekends off "outside".
Inside, my kitchen is now finished.  Our new "bling" was put on the wall two weeks ago, our drinks fridge arrived last week and my rangehood went back up on Sunday.  I always knew I would love the look, but am just so so excited about my bling wall.

Our little "home office" in the cupboard is also now finished and is looking very organised.
The toy room now has all toy boxes labelled (OCDish) and toy room rules.  One way to keep it neat.
