FIVE YEARS DOWN THE TRACK...

In November 2004 we started the journey to bring a baby home from China ... five years later, in October 2009, we met Isobel Pingqin.

A stork has landed in Mona Vale with a baby GIRL !!!

After nearly 5 years of waiting, we are extremely excited to announce we are the proud parents (and big brother) of a baby girl.

DoCS called this afternoon (Friday 28 August) at 4.50pm when I was just about to get off the bus. Talk about having to wait the whole week! Much to my horror I had to tell them to call back in 10 mins when I was off the bus. There was a mad dash for dad to come and collect me from the bus stop, mum to collect Ben from after school care, and get back to wait for the phone to ring.

Our daughter's Chinese name is Ping Qin Le. She was born on 1 June 2008 (currently 15mths old) and is currently living with a foster family in Leping County, Jiangxi Province, China.

We will be meeting with our social worker on Monday to receive additional information and photos of Ping Qin. We will also decide on her name once we see photos.

Referrals have arrived O/S

On Friday referrals were received in the US, Canada and Europe. Earlier this week the UK confirmed they have received their referrals.

So we are expecting DoCS to call any day now!

Will it be tomorrow...

Matching has begun!

The first early rumour from the US - matching has begun (ie matching babies with families). That normally means China will post referrals within a week. We still wouldn't expect ours until the week of the 24th - DoCS need to translate from Mandarin to English once they receive the allocation paperwork.

The Matching Room

This is a picture of the Matching Room. These are all the dossiers waiting to be matched with a child. One of them is ours!
