FIVE YEARS DOWN THE TRACK...

In November 2004 we started the journey to bring a baby home from China ... five years later, in October 2009, we met Isobel Pingqin.
Our little livewire known as Izzy.

Summer Nights

Peter started a new job two weeks ago, and although it is still just as far away from home, he is on the road a lot more and therefore able to be home much earlier.
So we've been taking advantage of this and had some great evening trips to the beach and lake.

Sulphur-Crested & Sunflowers

Well they were beautiful while they lasted, then something equally as beautiful found them and I couldn't bring myself to scare them away... so they are now destroyed.

Sunflowers and Sheds

The very back section of our backyard was totally neglected when our house was being built.  The vege garden became a weed garden, and a temporary home for transplanted plants.  Our bay tree actually grew into a "tree" in the vege garden.  The garden shed sat in the middle of the yard, falling apart and a large pile of wood grew.  Thistle took over grass and the whole area looked like an abandoned house.
So we've started to now clean it up.  It is a work in progress and will take time, but we're making progress.  The shed has been given a makeover, pulled apart, put back together and washed, and moved to its new position.
The vege garden has some herbs, still no veges as some plants are still residing there temporarily, but what has excited us the most is our sunflowers.  Izzy had some seeds so we threw them in there. What we now have is quite amazing.  These sunflowers are HUGE.

The backyard at the end of the building phase - not looking too good.

Starting to tidy it all up -
I just need to convince someone to throw away all that wood on the pile!

And now its 2013

We love school holidays and the lack of routine, not having to be up and out by a certain time, lunches made, bags packed.  Laying around not having to do anything.
Ben loves being at home, he'd stay home all day every day if it was up to him.
Today Izzy has gone on her first official play date without me - excited doesn't describe two little four year olds.

Looking for Ben in the school holidays - on the lounge most probably
